The Gospel of God: Concerning His Son (1:1-4)

- Designated the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection from the dead (His divinity expressed in glorified humanity).

- Receiving grace and apostleship for the obedience of faith among all the nations.
- Serving God in the spirit in the Gospel of His Son.
- Longing to impart spiritual gifts for mutual establishment and comfort through mutual faith.
- The debt to preach the Gospel to the Greeks and Barbarians, the wise and the foolish.
The Power of the Gospel and the Righteousness of God (1:16-17)
- The Gospel as the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.
- The righteousness of God revealed in the Gospel from faith to faith.
- The just living by faith in the Person of Christ, not by the works of the Law.
The Condemnation of Mankind: The Wrath of God and the Abandonment of Truth (1:18-32)
- The wrath of God revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness.
- The suppression of the truth and the rejection of God's general revelation through creation.
- Becoming vain in reasonings and darkened in heart by refusing to glorify or thank God.
- Exchanging the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of corruptible images.
- God giving them up to uncleanness, vile affections, and a reprobate mind as a consequence of their refusal to retain God in their knowledge.

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
10
Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
11
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
12
That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.
