Visual Theology – Bible Prophecy Charts
The Visual Theology charts are designed to help you see the structure and movement of Scripture. They highlight patterns, contrasts, and developments that are often difficult to hold together when reading line by line.
These charts show the structure of the argument. The accompanying articles develop each part in full.
This approach follows a long tradition of visual teaching in the Church. The well-known charts of Clarence Larkin helped many grasp the broad outline of Scripture. In the same spirit, these charts aim to make visible what the Word of God is revealing.

The Kingdom Approaches: What We See and What We Don't
The Approaching Kingdom
This chart shows the structure. What follows explains each part.
Living in the light of prophecy is not the same thing as living in constant readiness for the end -- and yet the two are often confused. Prophetic watchfulness, as Scripture defines it, is not a posture of anxiety or a habit of reading the news through an eschatological grid; it is a settled awareness that the kingdom is approaching, that specific things God has promised are visibly moving toward fulfillment, and that this movement is a source of encouragement rather than alarm. This article examines what can actually be seen in the present -- the preparation of the land, the regathering of the people, the alignment of nations -- and asks what a biblically informed observer is justified in concluding from it.

The Heart of Prophecy
Prophecy, at its heart, is the narrative of Christ as the seed of Abraham and David entering into His inheritance—the land, the throne, the nations, and the kingdom. The progression of biblical prophecy follows the qualified heir as He takes possession of what is rightfully His and shares that inheritance with those who are in Him. With this understanding, we are compelled to ask what evidence is visible today that the prophetic timeline is advancing toward its appointed conclusion.
Observable Signs: The Preparation of the Land
There are indeed observable signs that God is preparing the way for the fulfillment of Daniel's 70th week. Chief among these is the regathering of the Jewish people to the land of Israel after nearly two millennia of dispersion. This remarkable development, unthinkable just a century ago, was foretold in Ezekiel 36, where God declares, "I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake" (Ezekiel 36:22). Notably, God addresses the land itself—the mountains, hills, and desolate places—prophesying that they would be prepared and repopulated. What we witness in our generation is the fulfillment of this preparatory stage.
Yet it is crucial to recognize that this regathering is not the fulfillment of the 70th week. Israel's return to the land has occurred largely in unbelief. They have not yet been grafted back into the olive tree, as Paul explains in Romans 11:23-24. The removal of the heart of stone, the outpouring of the Spirit as described in Ezekiel 36:26-27, and the establishment of the New Covenant with Israel remain future realities. What unfolds before us is the preparation of the land, but the spiritual transformation awaits the time of Jacob's trouble during the 70th week.
This distinction is vital. Christ is the seed to whom the promises were made, and Israel cannot inherit except through faith in Him. The land is being made ready, but it cannot be truly possessed and enjoyed as a holy inheritance until Christ Himself takes possession and establishes His throne. Just as Joshua had to precede Israel to conquer the land before they could dwell in it securely, so Christ must come as the Lion of Judah, the root and offspring of David, to take possession of all that was promised before Israel can enter their rest. What we are witnessing are preliminary movements, not the final fulfillment.
The Present World System: Mystery Babylon
A further sobering reality emerges when we consider the present world system. Scripture identifies this as Mystery Babylon, not the beast system. The beast system remains submerged, awaiting the opening of the abyss (Revelation 9). However, much contemporary prophetic teaching confuses Mystery Babylon with the beast, leading to flawed predictions and date-setting that bring harm to believers and subject the prophetic word to the world's mockery.
Mystery Babylon is the mother of harlots (Revelation 17:5), the ancient system of false religion and opposition to God that has persisted since Babel and Nimrod. All subsequent empires—Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome—are rooted in this system. She rides the beast, meaning she operates through political powers, but she is not the beast itself. Revelation 17:16 foretells that the beast and the ten kings "shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire." The rise of the beast system will be marked by the destruction of Mystery Babylon, not the continuation of her reign.
The Deception of Satanic Mimicry
The deception deepens because the world's elite are not ignorant of biblical prophecy. They deliberately stage events to mimic prophetic fulfillment, engaging in a calculated form of spiritual witchcraft designed to confuse God's people and mock His word. When world leaders employ symbols and ceremonies that parody biblical prophecy, they enact what appears to be fulfillment, creating a "Babylonian psyop"—a psychological operation that leads believers into premature conclusions about the prophetic timeline.
This satanic mimicry produces a specific kind of drunkenness among believers—an aspect of the wine of Mystery Babylon's fornication (Revelation 17:2). Many become intoxicated with speculation, seeing the beast system where only Babylon exists, calculating dates based on current events, and insisting that the tribulation must be imminent because of what they observe. This intoxication leads to the very date-setting that Jesus explicitly forbade, and when these predictions fail, it breeds disillusionment and intensifies the world's ridicule of the prophetic Word.
Ultimately, this deception will culminate in what Paul calls "strong delusion." When the Antichrist appears, he will likely present himself not as the opponent of God but as the defeater of Antichrist. Having destroyed Mystery Babylon—the system currently recognized as evil—he will seem to bring in the kingdom, judge wickedness, and establish righteousness. The false prophet will support this with lying signs and wonders, presenting the Antichrist as Christ returned. Those who have been intoxicated by Babylon's wine, who have not learned to rightly divide the prophetic word, will believe the lie because they expected a savior-figure to defeat the beast system, and here he appears to have done so.
The Call to Sober Discernment
This is why understanding Daniel's 70th week and maintaining biblical distinctions is so urgent. We must discern that the land is being prepared—this is evidence of approaching fulfillment—but Israel has not been grafted in, and the 70th week has not begun. We must distinguish between Mystery Babylon, the present world system, and the beast, the future system arising from the abyss. We are called to sobriety, not intoxication with speculative interpretations of current events. And we must recognize that Satan cannot fulfill prophecy; he can only produce counterfeits that deceive those who do not know the Scriptures.
The prophetic word remains trustworthy. Ezekiel 36 is being fulfilled before our eyes as the land is prepared. But the 70th week has not commenced. The Church is still being built. The restrainer has not been removed. The beast has not risen from the abyss. Those who claim otherwise—insisting that we are already in the tribulation, that the mark of the beast is present, or that the Antichrist has been revealed—operate under the influence of Babylon's intoxicating deception. This spiritual drunkenness makes date-setting not merely an academic error but a profound spiritual danger, arising from a failure to rightly divide the prophetic word.
The observable signs of the approaching kingdom have been noted -- the return of the Jewish people to their land, the geopolitical alignments, the reappearance of prophetic patterns -- and they are real. But the movement from watchfulness to calculation is a short one, and the history of that movement is a history of damage. The Bible's own warning about the specific danger of date-setting is the necessary counterweight to everything this article has observed, and it is addressed directly next.
